The Belfonte family, REFLEXION, RELIEF and other geometrical constructions reflect my mathematical abilities, but my work with sheet metal includes irregular and representational designs. With these geometric sculptures I am exploiting the inherent properties of the metal in sculptures that twist, bend and move, using the metal’s springiness. Abstract geometrical constructions are usually made from a single sheet. These have been developed from time to time over a period of over 40 years. Several designs have been modelled, yet more have been planned, and there are others waiting to be developed.
